FA Futsal Awareness Day, 31 Oct 2008

On the 31st October 2008 Surrey FA will be hosting a Free Futsal awareness day as part of our National Game Strategy. The event will take place at Merton Rayne’s Park High School and will run from 3pm-6pm. The event is completely FREE, and is a fantastic opportunity for young people age 11-13 years to meet new people, learn new skills and have plenty of fun. The event is open to boys and girls aged 11-13.Futsal is a FIFA Approved Brazilian adaptation of 5 a side football. It has helped develop some of today’s best players such as Luis Figo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Robinho and Roberto Carlos who all developed skills through the game of Futsal. Futsal is a five-a-side game, played with hockey sized goals and a smaller ball with a reduced bounce. As a small-sided game players are constantly placed in situations where they must receive or play whilst under pressure or in confined spaces and it places considerable demand on technique, movement, tactical awareness and fitness Futsal is a fast, energetic exciting game, so why not come, meet new people and learn how to play.
