    Emergency First Aid at Work

    This Emergency First Aid at Work, HSE Approved course is ideal for smaller workplaces that present few health and safety risks.

    What you will learn? – Basic life saving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations.
    Course Content:

    Health and safety (first aid) regulations
    Managing an incident
    The priorities of first aid
    Treatment of an unconscious casualty
    Resuscitation
    Shock
    Choking
    Seizures
    Bleeding
    Common workplace injuries.
    Assessment and certification – Continuous assessment by trainer

    "Spirit and Place" an exhibition of art made by local Quakers

    An exhibition of work by local Quaker artists, showing how they respond to their Quaker spiritual experience and to the peace of this historic Meeting House and its urban environment.

    The diverse exhibition will include paintings, prints, sculpture, textiles, photographs and artists’ books.

    The Exhibition will open daily from Saturday 1st October until Sunday 9th October, timings below.

    ‘Trills and Tribulations’
    An evening of recorder music and readings exploring Quakers’ changing views about music since the 1600s.

    Saturday 8th October 10.30 – 12.30 (arrivals from 10am):
    Art and Spirituality workshop
    A guided, ‘hands on’ workshop, responding to the exhibition and the venue using simple arts and crafts activity.
    Led by Linda Murgatroyd of the Art and Spirituality Network. No artistic experience needed; materials provided.

    Fire Warden Marshal Training

    This Fire Warden Marshal Training workshop is aimed at those employees within the organisation who have a key role to play within the management of Fire Safety in the Workplace.

    The course is tailored as a generic course and will include the following:

    Types and Causes of Fire
    Extinguishing Fire
    Basic Fire Prevention
    Actions to be taken in the Event of Fire
    Fire Extinguishers
    Checking Fire Fighting Equipment within your Workplace

    Fire Notices and Signs
    Assembly Points and Role Calls
    Proactive Fire Prevention
    Proactive and Reactive Role of a Fire Warden/Marshal

    You will be able to undertake a practical demonstration; allowing you to extinguish different types of Fire, using Fire Extinguishers on our Environmentally Friendly Fire Simulators. Who will benefit from this course? Any Individual who has a responsibility for Fire Safety; anyone who requires guidance on work place fire safety and anyone who requires their staff to have an in-depth Fire Safety Awareness.
