The Marryat Players Chamber Orchestra is made up of 40 talented young musicians who come together in the Easter holidays to rehearse intensively for five days at the orchestra’s home in Marryat Road. The players are supported by young professional musicians and music students who act as mentors, as well as being guided by conductors including Alexander Baillie, Tim Boulton, Matthias Feile, Robert Max and Leandro Silvera. Their repertoire stretches from Bach to Piazzolla, and includes five new compositions written especially for the orchestra. The Marryat Players have worked with several celebrated soloists including Nicola Benedetti, Alina Ibragimova and Piers Lane.
